Educational Philosophy and Infrastructure of the Department
The education provided to our students within the department focuses on understanding the nature of disease by centering on the patient and their environment, and aims to plan and implement effective nursing care. For this purpose, information enriched with current sources is delivered through various educational methods (brainstorming, case discussions, role play) and supportive materials (audio, video, simulation models, etc.).
The practical components of undergraduate and graduate courses are carried out in the relevant clinics of the Ondokuz Mayıs University Health Practice and Research Center (OMÜ SUVAM), Samsun Training and Research Hospital affiliated with the Provincial Health Directorate, and Gazi State Hospital. In addition to patient care during in-term clinical practice, the working areas of specialist nurses in specialized fields (Diabetes Education Nurse, Oncology Nurse, Dialysis Nurse, etc.) are introduced to support students in their career planning.
